Gallery
Curated erotic art and photography. Work that earns the description, by artists treated as artists. Editorial standards consistent with the rest of the site: lineage transparent, work shown at full resolution, prints available where the artist offers them.
What goes in the Gallery
- Erotic painting and drawing — contemporary and historical. Egon Schiele to current artists working in figurative erotic painting. Curated, not exhaustive.
- Erotic photography — body, intimacy, ritual, fetish. From the great living photographers to the emerging ones working honestly in this lane. Distinct from "boudoir" — this is photography that knows it is photography.
- Ritual and shadow imagery — work that engages the body in ritualistic, ceremonial, or shadow-archetypal modes. Not "spiritual" decoration; actual ritual practice documented or evoked.
- Body-as-subject sculpture and installation — when it crosses the threshold of being honest about what the body is.
- Lawrence Lanoff's own photography — a curated set, including pieces from the Playboy and independent work and current practice.
How the Gallery works
Each artist or photographer in the Gallery has their own dedicated page:
- A curated selection of their work, shown at high resolution
- An artist statement (their own, in their voice)
- Lineage and training — who they studied with, what their formal background is, where their work sits in the broader tradition
- Available work — prints, books, limited editions, originals — sold through the artist's own channel or through The Naked Press shop with affiliate disclosure
- Where to follow their ongoing work
The Gallery is not infinite scroll. The criterion is editorial quality. We would rather have twelve artists shown honestly than two hundred shown as wallpaper.
